The ZUS subsidy for health and safety improvement measures is a programme run by the Social Insurance Institution in its current form for five years. Starting from 2023, each applicant can receive up to 80% co-financing regardless of the size of the company. However, the value of the support cannot exceed PLN 299,000 gross for the implementation of investment measures, or PLN 300,000 gross for the implementation of investment and advisory projects.

ZUS funding for health and safety improvement measures can be awarded to projects that:

  • improve occupational safety
  • reduce the risk of accidents at work or occupational diseases
  • reduce the adverse effects of harmful factors at work
  • enable workers to maintain their ability to work throughout their working lives.

The competition is designed for future projects, which means that completed projects are not eligible for funding.

What can you obtain funding for?

  • Edge protection
  • Hall and warehouse lighting
  • Subsidies from ZUS for forklift trucks
  • Noise reduction
  • Machine guards
  • Ventilation
  • Workplace extraction systems
  • Elements of control systems implementing safety functions
  • Anti-vibration safety products
  • Health and safety equipment to improve working at height safety
  • Musculoskeletal load reduction systems
  • Employee personal protective equipment

What are the benefits of funding?

  • Modernising the working environment
  • Cost savings
  • Improving worker safety
  • Improving the company’s image

Improving safety at work is an investment that will pay for itself in the form of reduced costs associated with accidents, such as absenteeism, production downtime, staff turnover, the cost of accident premiums or litigation.

Funding will be awarded to the highest rated projects. From 2023 onwards, there is a greater emphasis on ensuring that projects submitted to the competition are more effective. This is why the assistance of a partner to help prepare the application in terms of content and form is crucial.

The ZUS subsidy for measures to improve health and safety in companies is a form of support for investment and advisory projects that appears periodically each year. The results of this year’s competition will be announced by 31 December.

Developing a project, assessing its potential and preparatory activity can take several months, so we recommend starting work early.
